I tried using an AI-powered composition tool.

For example, if you instruct it to "make music like the currently popular XX□,"

the AI ​​can produce a song that's quite close it.

In this case, the AI ​​unearthed and reconstructed the phrases and rhythmic forms from big data.

And the human only gave feedback on the arrangement created by the AI.

Compared to traditional music production, 

This is similar to the work of a record company director.

​

I think this method is perfectly acceptable. However, the composer is ultimately the 'AI'.

Some people might think,

"If we release it to the world and the market says it's a good song, then that's fine,"

and I won't dismiss it outright.

But does that bring you satisfaction?

 

I've created music with incredibly talented people.

I've observed that in both the process of a composer creating a piece of music and

 a musician overdubs their performance

no one was consciously trying to create a specific shape like '〇▽□'.

 

Everyone is simply listening to the sounds that are playing and reacting to them.

And in that process, several unexpected 'magic' events occur.

Finally, the mixer organizes all the elements contained in the recorded music

from a third-party perspective.

The music created in this way is highly regarded by many and remains in the world.

 

AI cannot surpass your thinking.

 

I wanted to use my accumulated skills and experience, built over more than 40 years

from the analog era to the present,

to help those who want to create music but haven't yet grasped their own style.

 

Composing is an encounter with your unknown self.
